The most important part to building the Tonka Winnebago into an RC is the chassis that your components attach to. ECB 3D Printing has done the math and hard part and designed a modular system that allows you to add what you need and not pay for what you do not.

Front Leaf Spring Chassis is designed for 1/14 axles. An easy way to get your steering set up with an integrated servo mount. This unit will need 3x m3 locknuts to attach to the metal floor of the Winnebago. The chassis is designed to use the 1/14 leaf springs that measure approximately 104mm eye to eye.

* Tech tip 1 : when building this up you may run into different length springs. When this chassis unit is assembled, if the wheels do not line up central to the wheel wells on the body you can slot the small holes in the metal body and this will allow you to slide this unit front or back to become central in the wheel wells.

* Tech Tip 2 : to get the proper height for the front you can add or subtract leaf springs or for small increments you can add or subtract washers or spacers between the chassis unit and the Winnebago body.

Electronics Tray is designed for standard 2S batteries. This unit can house a 37 x 39 mm ESC and up to a 30 x 30 mm reciever. This unit comes with 2 battery stops to use short batteries and also move weight left or right of center in case you nee to. The Electronics tray aslo comes with a standard Battery Strap.

The Electronics Tray does attach to the Front Chassis and requires one hole added to the bottom of the Winnebago floor. You will need a m3 lock nut for the new mount hole and 2x m3 button head screws to mount to the Front Chassis unit.

The Rear Bag Chassis combines the suspension for the rear axle and a mount for a planetary transmission. The Rear axle suspension parts are for a 1/14 tractor semi axle. The axle, suspension and planetary transmission can be found from various sellers on ebay.

The axle and transmission we used has 5mm drive pins so we used a simple coupler with 5mm holes as a driveshaft. This can also be found from various sellers on ebay.

This chassis unit needs 4x m3 lock nuts to attach to the Winnebago.

This bag system has advantages over leaf spring. It does not have spring wrap that happens under heavy load and it does not give you a random axle centerline like the cheap leaf springs. The bag sytem has a set length to center your axle in the wheel well (we did the hard part with our chassis) and you do not need to adjust spring mounting points due to random length and random spring load of cheap leaf springs.

*Tech Tip : When tightening down the mounting screws to the planetary transmission, compress the axle to make sure the coupler does not bind.

These are designed to use:

104mm leaf springs, front.

Ebay Bagger links for rear.

Ebay Planetary transmission.

Standard size servo.

Front 1/14 Tamiya style axle.

Rear 1/14 Tamiya tractor style axle.

Ebay coupler, our motor and axle input are 5mm diameter, you will need to know your setup to order the right coupler.

Modular parts sold seperately. Only the Printed parts come in these units (2 stops and battery strap comes with the electronics tray). The screws and metal parts are not included. All parts come in black and you can easily paint them to match your RV.
